GeoRTD and VTS for IOCL’s Indane operations, managed by GTI, provide a comprehensive Vehicle Tracking System (VTS) for Bulk LPG and Packed LPG transport. This system includes installing Vehicle Mounted Units (VMU) on tank and packed trucks, enabling real-time tracking and route management. GTI also handles software licenses, provides 24×7 user support, and delivers exception reports, ensuring smooth and transparent operations for IOCL officials and transporters through a mobile app. 

A key feature of the system is route mapping, which identifies all-weather motorable routes between LPG bottling plants, distributors’ go-downs, and customer locations. GTI uses GPS and GIS technology to continuously update routes and ensures accurate distance verification, crucial for billing and transport cost management in IOCL’s SAP system. The process involves plotting geo-coordinates of supply and delivery locations on certified GIS maps, offering route verification and real-time monitoring of truck movements. 

The system tracks approximately 6,500 trucks across various states in India, including Rajasthan, Gujarat, Karnataka, Maharashtra, and more. GTI also provides annual training for IOCL officers and vendors, covering system functionalities, route plotting, and user administration. Safety is integral to the VTS, with features like geo-fencing, real-time alerts for over-speeding, route deviations, and driver behaviour monitoring. 

The system meets EMI and EMC standards, ensuring high-performance reliability. Additionally, it supports exception reporting for events like trip time exceeding limits, contributing to operational efficiency.
