Inception
At the beginning of the 1960s, when Madras was a major trading centre, it was felt that connecting the major cities of Kerala, like Calicut and Ernakulam, would make it easier to move goods and packages between Madras and those cities.
Kerala Roadways Tracking and Mr V.K. Moidu Hajee met the demand for retail traders in these cities. According to the proverb, “necessity is the mother of invention,” three proprietary KRS branches were established in Madras, Calicut, and Ernakulam with the intention of implementing a rapid transportation service from Madras that does not require any transhipment points.
KRS Transport Milestones
When the Indian Bank Association recognized the company in 1976, it made significant progress, and large businesses began using their cargo transportation services.
In 1978, when CP Kunhi Mohammed joined as a partner, the proprietary company became a partnership with the same name. By combining the company’s assets and liabilities, Kerala roadways Pvt Ltd was established later in 1981.
KRS Tracking became a deemed public limited company in 1988 in accordance with the Companies Act Amendment’s Section 40A (Turnover clause). In 1987 and 1994, Siraj MK and Nasly Mohammed simultaneously joined the Board of Directors.
KRS transport began computerization in 1988, and by 1995, almost all of the major regional branches had access to the most recent computing technologies. Since all queries were sent through the same channel, the PC-Telex interface was crucial during that time.
